Lake Lagunitas - 29 January, 1995

This is hike #33, Lagunitas Road, in the Mt Tam Hiking, Running and Nature Guide. It is a 1.8 mile hike that goes counter-clockwise around Lake Lagunitas on the north side of Mt. Tam in Marin. We walked from the parking lot, past the sluice that was just COOKIN' with water, up to the dam. What made this hike so incredible was the appearance of SUN. In the first 29 days of year, there's been only 3 days of no rain. We left at 11:30 and were back by 1:00. Here's what we saw:
Birds
Mallard, Bufflehead, Ruddy Duck, Cooper's Hawk, Coot, Acorn Woodpecker, Stellar's Jay, Varied Thrush, Dark-eyed "Oregon" Junco, .

Mammals
Black-tailed Deer.

Mushrooms
Western Grissette, Sulfur Tufts, Witch's Butter.

Wildflowers
Fetid Adder's Tongue, Milkmaids.
